This page explains, in plain terms, what VAMS BIOME is and what it is not. It is published by VAMS BioInnovation Private Limited. Please read it before purchasing or using any VAMS BIOME product or report.
What VAMS BIOME Is
VAMS BIOME offers an at-home microbiome sampling service combined with DNA sequencing and educational, wellness-oriented reports. Our reports include an interpretation layer we call ATLAS, which contextualises sequencing-derived microbial composition against reference cohorts and presents associated microbial features alongside confidence indicators.
The purpose of the service is educational and wellness-oriented only. It is intended to help you explore and build longitudinal awareness of your microbial community in an understandable, contextualised way. Everything we provide is offered for general information and personal interest.
What VAMS BIOME Is Not
VAMS BIOME is not a medical service and is not a substitute for personal medical care. Specifically:
The service is not a medical device and not an in-vitro diagnostic (IVD).
It has not been cleared, approved, certified, or authorised by any medical regulator, including Ministry of Corporate Affairs; Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology; Data Protection Board of India; Department of Consumer Affairs and Central Consumer Protection Authority; and, depending on the product or claim, CDSCO, FSSAI, relevant State authorities and other competent regulators. (e.g. FDA / MHRA / CE — referenced here only as placeholders). Nothing on this page should be read as asserting any such clearance or approval.
Our reports do not diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease, illness, or condition.
Our reports are not intended to detect any disease or condition, and should not be used to make decisions about your health, medication, diet, or care.
If you have a health concern, or before making any change to your diet, supplements, medication, or lifestyle, you should always consult a qualified healthcare provider. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of anything in a VAMS BIOME report.
What Sequencing Can and Cannot Tell You
Our laboratory workflow uses DNA sequencing to characterise the microbial composition and microbial diversity present in your sample. These methods produce a picture of your microbial community and a set of method-supported, associated microbial features — each accompanied by confidence indicators.
These outputs are not clinical results. They describe microbial composition and context; they are not measurements of a health outcome and are not interpreted against clinical thresholds. Sequencing results can vary with sampling technique, timing, sample handling, diet, and the state of the evidence base at the time of analysis. Because of this, features are presented with confidence indicators rather than as definitive findings.
Laboratory Processing and Accreditation
Laboratory processing is described only at a general level here. Any accreditation, certification, or quality-standard status is represented by the placeholder VAMS BioInnovation Private Limited is not itself represented as an accredited clinical laboratory. Laboratory accreditation, quality certification and permitted testing scope vary by processing partner and will be disclosed for the applicable service. No accreditation should be inferred unless expressly stated and independently verifiable. and must be confirmed and inserted by qualified counsel before publication. Nothing on this page asserts CLIA, UKAS, ISO, CAP, or any other specific accreditation.
The Limits of Microbiome Science
Microbiome science is a genuinely promising but still-evolving field. A few important limitations apply to everything we report:
Associations, not causation. Where our reports reference relationships between microbial features and wellness themes, these reflect associations described in the scientific literature — not cause-and-effect, and not predictions about your health.
An evolving evidence base. Scientific understanding of the microbiome changes over time. Interpretations that seem reasonable today may be revised as research advances. Our reports reflect a snapshot of current understanding, not settled fact.
Individual variability. Microbial communities differ widely between people and change within the same person over time. Context from reference cohorts helps with interpretation but does not define what is right or healthy for any individual.
How to Interpret ATLAS Scores and Confidence Responsibly
ATLAS scores are educational interpretation tools, not medical measurements. When reading them:
Treat scores as context, not verdicts. They summarise how your sequencing-derived microbial features compare against reference cohorts within a wellness context.
Read the confidence indicators. Each feature carries a confidence indicator that reflects how strongly the underlying method and evidence support it. Lower-confidence features should be read with appropriate caution.
Look at trends over single readings. Longitudinal awareness — how your results shift over time — is often more informative than any one score.
Do not act on a score alone. A score is never a reason to start, stop, or change any medication, supplement, diet, or medical care. Bring questions to a qualified healthcare provider.
Intended Users
VAMS BIOME is intended for general adult consumers interested in learning about their microbiome for educational and wellness purposes. It is not intended for use in medical decision-making, emergency situations, or as part of the diagnosis or management of any condition.
