How a sequencing signal becomes structured interpretation

Every ATLAS output is built the same transparent way — features become scores, scores group into panels, panels group into Insight Packs — with method support and a confidence cue visible at each step.

The interpretation hierarchy

Four layers, one consistent flow

Each layer builds on the one before it. The flow is the same for every ecosystem and every report family.

  1. 01 Composition Sequencing-derived microbial features from the sample.
  2. 02 Scores Conservative summaries of those features, each stating its method support.
  3. 03 Panels Related scores grouped under a biological theme — the unit of interpretation.
  4. 04 Insight Packs Panels grouped into a themed report layer, where the method supports it.

How a score is derived

Transparent by construction

ATLAS interprets sequencing signals; it does not generate a diagnosis. The exact features, transforms and thresholds are runtime-owned — what we show you is the shape of the reasoning.

A defined group of sequencing-derived features is selected as the input for a score.

Each input carries a method-support badge — what the chosen assay can and cannot resolve.

ATLAS summarises the signal into a transparent score, never inflating certainty beyond the evidence.

What unlocks deeper layers

Panels and packs are gated, not guessed

Additional panels and Insight Packs become available based on a few clear conditions. Eligibility is decided at runtime during configuration and reporting — never hardcoded into the report itself.

Reportable context only

The consumer-facing report shows reportable microbiome context only. ATLAS scores describe microbial composition, diversity and ecological context relative to reference data — they do not diagnose, treat, predict or cure disease, and should be read with symptoms, history and clinician assessment where relevant.
