The ATLAS™ Framework

VAMS ATLAS™: the interpretation engine behind every microbiome report

ATLAS™ organizes sequencing-derived microbial composition into a traceable, layered structure — Scores, Panels, confidence indicators, and Insight Packs — so complex data becomes readable without overstating what it can mean.

Raw sequencing output is dense, high-dimensional, and difficult to interpret on its own. VAMS ATLAS™ is the structured intelligence layer that turns sequencing-derived microbial features into an organized report you can actually read. Each interpretation is contextualized against reference cohorts, carries a visible confidence indicator, and stays within an educational, wellness framing. ATLAS describes associations in current microbiome science — it does not diagnose, treat, or predict disease.

What Is ATLAS™

What Is ATLAS™ explains the scientific role this topic plays within VAMS BIOME’s microbiome intelligence architecture.

What Is ATLAS™ defines VAMS ATLAS™ as the intelligence layer that organizes sequencing-derived microbial features into Scores, Panels, Confidence Indicators, Insight Packs, longitudinal tracking, and scientific context.

Layered interpretation, from single signal to themed narrative

Intelligence Layers Overview explains the scientific role this topic plays within VAMS BIOME’s microbiome intelligence architecture.

ATLAS™ reads your data in deliberate layers so nothing is presented in isolation. Scores summarize individual microbial patterns. Panels group related Scores into a coherent biological theme. Confidence indicators show how strongly each reading can be interpreted given sequencing quality, feature prevalence, and cohort representation. Insight Packs assemble these into themed, educational narratives. Every layer stays traceable back to the underlying sequencing-derived features, and every interpretation describes associations reported in the microbiome literature — not causation and not clinical conclusions.

This structure keeps ATLAS transparent by design: you can see not only what a pattern suggests, but how confidently it can be read and where its limits lie.

Scores Layer

Complex data, summarised into readable signals.

Scores condense thousands of sequencing-derived features into a handful of readable summaries — such as diversity, composition and balance. A score is an educational summary of a pattern, always shown with a confidence indicator. It is not a disease-risk number and not a diagnosis. The underlying calculations live inside ATLAS; this page explains what scores mean, not how they are computed.

Panels Layer

Panels Layer explains the scientific role this topic plays within VAMS BIOME’s microbiome intelligence architecture.

Panels Layer defines VAMS ATLAS™ as the intelligence layer that organizes sequencing-derived microbial features into Scores, Panels, Confidence Indicators, Insight Packs, longitudinal tracking, and scientific context.

Confidence Layer

How sure the science is — shown plainly.

Every interpretation carries a confidence indicator — Higher, Moderate or Exploratory — describing how strongly the evidence supports it relative to reference patterns. Higher confidence means the pattern is well characterised in current science; Exploratory means it is an active research area. Confidence communicates strength and limitation; it never means certainty, and it is never a guarantee.

Insight Packs Layer

Insight Packs Layer explains the scientific role this topic plays within VAMS BIOME’s microbiome intelligence architecture.

Insight Packs Layer defines VAMS ATLAS™ as the intelligence layer that organizes sequencing-derived microbial features into Scores, Panels, Confidence Indicators, Insight Packs, longitudinal tracking, and scientific context.

VagiX™ Integration

Vaginal community ecology — patterns, not infection status.

For VagiX™, ATLAS summarises vaginal community patterns, including Lactobacillus-dominant and more diverse, anaerobe-associated ecology where the data support it. This is descriptive ecological context compared against reference patterns. It does not detect, diagnose or rule out infections such as BV, and it is not a substitute for clinical testing or care.
